Attorney and Arbitrator: Primarily engaged in advising and representing multinational companies and other private sector contractors, manufacturers, employers and consultants in energy, construction, investment, trade, healthcare and dispute matters since 1977 with residence in the Middle East (1975-1985) and United States (1985-present). Particular experience in the tendering, financing, and performance of major construction, design and infrastructure projects; international oil and gas projects; international joint venture planning, organization and maintenance; and the drafting and performance of international agency and distributorship arrangements. Appointed as arbitrator in international and domestic arbitrations by the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and American Arbitration Association (AAA) including AAA’s International Centre for Dispute Resolution. Named on the Panel of Arbitrators for the International Centre for Dispute Resolution of AAA, Construction Panel of Neutrals, and Commercial Panel of Neutrals of AAA.

The clients’ industry sectors and projects in the Middle East, United States, Europe, Far East, East Asia, Africa, South Asia, and Latin America have included on-shore and off-shore construction, oil and gas services, distribution and product manufacturing, trade association antitrust compliance, foreign trusts and estates, countervailing duty and antidumping investigations, acquisitions and mergers, healthcare management, USA Patriot Act and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act compliance, oil and gas energy and natural resources development, commercial airline operations, maritime, entertainment, licensing and technology transfer including dual use technology, immigration, joint venture maintenance, sports management and foreign-owned United States enterprises. Representation of clients in dispute matters has primarily involved construction and other commercial arbitration (both institutional and ad hoc) and advice on court litigation. Studied as Fellow at the Salzburg Seminar. Served as member of the District Export Council of the United States Department of Commerce. Commissioned service in United States naval reserve rising to rank of O6 Captain (1973-2003). Listed in “Who’s Who in America.”

Alternative Dispute Resolution Experience: Represented parties in international construction, product distribution, and service project arbitration, ad hocand under institutional rules of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and American Arbitration Association (AAA) in several jurisdictions. International institutional arbitration experience includes the following appointments: four as Chairman of Tribunal, six as Sole Arbitrator and eight as Co-Arbitrator. Domestic arbitration experience includes the following appointments: seven as Chairman of Tribunal, 29 as Sole Arbitrator, and 10 as Co-Arbitrator. Service as arbitrator in construction, entertainment, intellectual property rights, distributorship, agency, sales representative, software, international sale of goods, industrial licensing, agriculture and other disputes, including disputes between a sovereign state and a construction contractor.
